My Brothers All:
Congratulations to the ten (10) Masters of the Royal Secret who were invested a Knight Commander of the Court of Honor, and the three (3) Knights Commander of the Court of Honor who were coroneted a 33° Inspector General Honorary. It was a pleasure to be in attendance and see these honors bestowed upon brothers who work so hard within the Valley of Orlando. They were well deserved, and I look forward to continuing working with you! Also, I offer my thanks to those brothers from the Valley of Orlando who participated in the Coronation Ceremony, and the Ceremony of Investiture!
As a reminder, our November meeting on the 17th of November will be the election and installation of officers for 2018. We will start with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Afterwards, we will hold a short tyled meeting to elect officers for the 2018 calendar year followed with an open installation of officers.
Our December ‘17 meeting will be held on the 2nd Friday, the 8th of December, and will not be a Holiday Extravaganza as we have done for many years in the past. We will have dinner (most likely an Italian meal) and watch an appropriate holiday movie. In moving forward, we will be looking at a way to do more at this holiday meeting, but this year with the move to our current location, we did not want to over commit and not be able to accommodate the 300 plus folks who have attended in the past. Your ideas for a more robust event for holiday 2018 would be much appreciated.
Until next time, remember the many things for which you are thankful! Be safe in your travels; “whisper wise counsel in the ear of an erring brother;” and respect the dignity of all, as it makes you and our fraternity stronger one action at a time. We are realizing the benefits of Scottish Rite Freemasonry as we actively participate today. We want to ensure that what we are enjoying today will be strong for those who will follow. Simply stated – “We lead the way today so those who follow us can lead the way tomorrow!” Thanks for your continued support and participation; and may the “Spirit of Fraternity” reign supreme within our “Valley of Orlando!”
Fraternally,
Ill Chester A. “Chet” King, 33°
