My Brothers and Friends of the Scottish Rite – Valley of Orlando:
The Valley Membership Achievement Project – VMAP as it is referred to – was launched four years ago, and is the structure utilized by the Southern Jurisdiction to plan our and measure our success, always with an eye on creating and improving the experience each of us enjoys as Scottish Rite Masons. VMAP allows us to measure our results against the plans we made at the start of each year. I and many would say we had a successful 2018 year. We are preparing the final VMAP end of year closing paperwork. Once the closeout is final I will share the results with all, and we will see just how successful we were within the VMAP conduit. This closeout document will serve as the baseline we will use in making plans for 2019.
The intent of VMAP is to help each Valley carry out its service to the Scottish Rite by providing the very best experience for its members. VMAP requirements are broken into the following 11 specific subject Areas which cover the full scope of the Scottish Rite experience:
- Membership Retention / Engagement
- Scottish Rite Education for Members
- Membership Recruitment
- New Member Engagement
- Reunion Experience
- Scottish Rite Education for Candidates
- Philanthropy
- Public Image
- Degree Conferral Proficiency
- Officer Responsibilities & Engagement
- Valley Organizations
We are looking for a few Brothers to volunteer as leaders for a few of the categories listed above. This will require working with the VMAP Team to plan our year and ensure it aligns with the events and tasks that have proven to create a positive experience for members. If you are interested, please let Ill:. Keith or I know, and we will bring you onto the leadership team as we begin the year
The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite is an organization that confers or communicates twenty-nine additional degrees and is structured to provide additional Masonic Education to assist a Master Mason to w and expand his knowledge and understanding of our great fraternity. I am confident that there are many of you out there who have a particular subject, topic, thought or experience that could be shared that would be of interest to brothers that receive our eNews. If you would like to prepare an article (and I strongly encourage you to do so) that would be published in a future edition, please get with me via email or text and give me a quick overview of what your topic will be and when you can have it ready. We will then schedule your article in a future edition.
Until next time, remember the many things for which you are thankful! Be safe in your travels; “whisper wise counsel in the ear of an erring brother;” and respect the dignity of all, as it makes you and our fraternity stronger one action at a time. We want to ensure that what we are enjoying today will be strong for those who will follow. Simply stated – “We lead the way today so those who follow us can lead the way tomorrow!” Thanks for your continued support and participation; and may the “Spirit of Fraternity” reign supreme within our “Valley of Orlando!”
May you and yours be blessed with health, happiness, and prosperity in 2019!
Fraternally,
Ill:. Chester A. “Chet” King, 33°
