Hello, My Brothers!
The Fall 2018 Reunion is in the record books, and I am pleased to welcome seventeen new Masters of the Royal Secret to A.A.S.R. in the Valley of Orlando. I also thank those brothers for their generous donation made, as a class, to the Scottish Rite Foundation of FL, USA, Inc., it will certainly be put to good use. From a logistics and operational viewpoint we had a successful reunion and will be debriefing in a week or two, looking to determine what we can do better for continuous improvement of the reunion experience for those who choose to join us in the future. Thanks to those brothers who are part of the Committee on Work, Kitchen Crew, Stage Crew, Lights and Sound, Wardrobe, Class Education Team, Class Conductors and Degree teams. Your continued support and participation are greatly appreciated.
While I am talking about the reunion, I offer my thanks to all the brothers who put a larger than usually donation into the Almoner’s Fund. We’ll add this money to a starting amount that the Valley of Orlando will make available to assist brothers and their families, who suffered the extreme damage we have all seen on the various news and weather networks from hurricane Michael. As we have learned in the Rite, and Freemasonry in general, when you receive “light,” you should then share that light with others. With that thought in mind, please keep in your prayers the relief efforts not just our brothers impacted by the storm, but all those who suffered extreme losses from this intense storm that passed through the north Florida area.
One last item to share with all – we are excited this year to do something special during December to celebrate, and this year we will be hosting a “Holiday Steak Dinner” on the second Friday the 14th of December. There is a flyer with details in this edition of eNews and will also be in future editions. Please note that it is a ticket only event, with tickets not being sold at the door. Please contact Keith at the Valley office or purchase your tickets at the October or November meetings. Purchase your tickets by November 30.
Until next time, remember the many things for which you are thankful! Be safe in your travels; “whisper wise counsel in the ear of an erring brother;” and respect the dignity of all, as it makes you and our fraternity stronger one action at a time. Thanks for your continued support and participation; and may the “Spirit of Fraternity” reign supreme within our “Valley of Orlando!”
Fraternally,
