Mentoring is defined by Webster as – “a trusted counselor or guide; also tutor or coach.” It is also a vital part of Freemasonry and therefore, the Ancient and accepted Scottish Rite. It affords you as a mentor to assist a new Master of The Royal Secret in learning about the Scottish Rite and helping the new brother get comfortable with us and our ways. It also introduces them to the education that is available to them, and offers a point of contact as they become active in the Rite and have questions or need guidance on how to proceed and become an active member, realizing the rights and benefits we offer as they continue to grow in Freemasonry.

We are planning a Saturday morning Mentoring refresher breakfast at the Valley Masonic Center. This breakfast will include a two-hour refresher session on mentoring and how you should approach mentoring a new brother who has joined the Scottish Rite with you as his top line signer. Please note the date change from the 8th to the 15th of July from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on your calendar for this breakfast and mentoring refresher program.

There is no limit on attendees any member of the Valley can attend, but those who were top line signers for brothers who have joined us over the past 5 years are strongly encouraged to attend. You will get a refresher on how to mentor a new brother in the Rite and I am confident that you will not be disappointed.
