My Brothers All: The Valley of Orlando enjoyed another successful year and thanks goes to each and every member who participated and made a difference. Our tyled January 26th Stated Meeting will include the annual “State of the Valley” presentation. Dinner will be served at 6:30pm, tyled meeting to follow. I hope to see you there.

Our December dinner meeting was well attended, and the many positive comments received were greatly appreciated. The delicious food was thanks to Brother Chet Tokar and those who worked with him, and I appreciated your positive comments on the entertainment which made the evening special. After a busy year it just seemed appropriate that we take an evening to relax and enjoy the success of 2023.

In each article prepared for the eNews, you are encouraged to read the bi-monthly Scottish Rite Journal, and hopefully enjoy the excellent articles and information contained therein. The Jan/Feb 2024 edition had an article titled Br. Franklin D. Roosevelt “A President Who Perplexed two Supreme Councils,” was an interesting read.

The January 2024 Short Talk Bulletin (Vol.102; No.1) titled “The Church and the Lodge as They meet in the Man” talks about  the importance of the Man in this triangle and offers the thought that the key to the success focuses on the Man himself. Each Masonic Lodge should have received a copy. I encourage you to obtain a copy and take 10 minutes to read and reflect.

We will continue in the 2024 year eNews the section titled “Notable Brothers of The Scottish Rite!” Each month this section provides an article on a notable Brother Mason aligned with the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. Thanks goes to Brother Den Ardinger who has done the research and prepares these articles.

Our Spring Reunion will take place on the 9th and 10th of March and now is a good time to start preparing your degrees and also encouraging brothers who are interested in the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite (A.A.S.R.) to submit their petitions for membership.

Until next time, remember the many things for which you are thankful!  Be safe in your travels; “whisper wise counsel in the ear of an erring brother;” and respect the dignity of all, as it makes you and our fraternity stronger one action at a time.  We want to ensure that what we are enjoying today will be available for those who follow. Simply stated – “We lead the way today, so those who follow us can lead the way tomorrow!”  Thanks for your continued support and participation, and may the “Spirit of Fraternity” reign supreme within our “Valley of Orlando!”

I hope you all enjoyed your December holidays, and may you and yours be blessed health, happiness and prosperity in 2024.

Fraternally,

Ill Chester A. “Chet” King, 33°
