My Brothers All: The Valley of Orlando enjoyed another successful year and thanks to each and every member who participated and made a difference. Our tyled January 27th Stated Meeting will include the annual “State of the Valley” presentation. Dinner will be served at 6:30pm, tyled meeting to follow. I hope there are many inquisitive members joining us for this presentation.
Our December 9th dinner meeting was well attended, and the many positive comments received were greatly appreciated. The delicious food was thanks to Brother Chet Tokar and those who worked with him with the entertainment making the evening special. After a busy year it just seemed appropriate that we take an evening to relax and enjoy the success of 2022.
In each article prepared for the eNews, you are encouraged to read the bi-monthly Scottish Rite Journal, and hopefully enjoy the excellent articles and information contained therein. Also, the December 2021 Short Talk Bulletin (Vol. 99; No. 12) titled “The Holidays” offers a short, but reflective story on the holidays remembered as a child through celebrating now, as an adult and in particular, a Master Mason. Each Masonic Lodge should have received a copy. I encourage you to obtain a copy and take 10 minutes to read and reflect.
At the start of the 2022 year, we added to the eNews a section titled “Notable Brothers of the Scottish Rite!” and later “Notable Brothers of Free and Accepted Masonry.” Each month this section provides an article on a notable Brother Mason aligned with the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. Thanks to the effort of Brother Den Ardinger who has done the research and prepares these articles.
Until next time, remember the many things for which you are thankful! Be safe in your travels; “whisper wise counsel in the ear of an erring brother;” and respect the dignity of all, as it makes you and our fraternity stronger one action at a time. We want to ensure that what we are enjoying today will be available for those who follow. Simply stated – “We lead the way today, so those who follow us can lead the way tomorrow!” Thanks for your continued support and participation, and may the “Spirit of Fraternity” reign supreme within our “Valley of Orlando!”
May you and yours be blessed with the spirit of the season, and may we all stay COVID free, and enjoy a healthy, happy and prosperous 2023.
Fraternally,
Ill Chester A. “Chet” King, 33°
