My Brothers All: The Valley of Orlando enjoyed another successful year and our thanks goes to each and every member who participated and made a difference. Our tyled January 28th Stated Meeting will include the annual “State of the Valley” presentation. Dinner will be served at 6:30pm, meeting to follow. I hope there are many inquisitive members joining us for this presentation.
Our December 10th dinner meeting was well attended, and the many positive comments received were greatly appreciated. The delicious food was thanks to Brother Chet Tokar and those who worked with him with the entertainment making the evening special. After a busy year it just seemed appropriate that we take an evening to relax and enjoy the success of 2021. It was a pleasure hosting ILL Richard G. Hoover, 33° our S.G.I.G., and we also had an opportunity to welcome our newest member, ILL David A. Glattly, 33° and his lady Monica, to the Valley.
As a reminder, our first Master Craftsman study group starts up again in January 2022. A second group also starts in January with the first module “Esoterika.” If you are interested in participating in this recently started monthly study group, please contact Ill Keith at the Valley office via 407-657-4550 or via eMail at GenSecOrl@gmail.com. When he returns from a well-deserved vacation this week, he will ensure you are added to the mailing list and receive all invitations to participate via ZOOM. Keep in mind that participating in a study group enhances the Master Craftsman experience for everyone, and starts the building of fraternal friendships between those brothers who participate.
In each article prepared for the eNews, you are encouraged to read the bi-monthly Scottish Rite Journal, and hopefully enjoy the excellent articles and information contained therein. Also, the December 2021 Short Talk Bulletin (Vol. 99; No. 12) titled “The Holidays” offers a short, but reflective story on the holidays remembered as a child through celebrating now, as an adult and in particular, a Master Mason. Each Masonic Lodge should have received a copy. I encourage you to obtain a copy and take 10 minutes to read and reflect.
At the start of the 2022 year, we are adding in the eNews a section titled “Notable Brothers of The Scottish Rite!” Each month this section provides an article on a notable Brother Mason aligned with the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.
Until next time, remember the many things for which you are thankful! Be safe in your travels; “whisper wise counsel in the ear of an erring brother;” and respect the dignity of all, as it makes you and our fraternity stronger one action at a time. We want to ensure that what we are enjoying today will be available for those who follow. Simply stated – “We lead the way today, so those who follow us can lead the way tomorrow!” Thanks for your continued support and participation, and may the “Spirit of Fraternity” reign supreme within our “Valley of Orlando!”
May you and yours be blessed with the spirit of the season, and may we all stay COVID free, and enjoy a healthy, happy and prosperous 2022.
Fraternally,
Ill Chester A. “Chet” King, 33°
