I would like to start by welcoming the over 18 new Masters of the Royal Secret in the Valley of Orlando.  The ceremony took place at our spring and fall reunions. We were also pleased to have a visitor from the Valley of Tampa who was also made a “Master of the Royal Secret.”

It was a pleasure to have him join us and an honor to support the Valley of Tampa.

The 2024 year is coming to a close and I would like I offer my thanks for your participation in a variety of ways. I hope you will each look for new ways to participate such as learning a new character part in your current degree or maybe learning a new degree; or possibly participating in a new part in the Spring or Fall “Reunions;” maybe participating in the kitchen. Look around and I am sure you will find something that is new and exciting and keeps you participating. Please know your participation is greatly appreciated, and may provide a little fun along the way.

Our November meeting on Friday the 22nd starts with dinner at 1830 (6:30pm) and will be followed with a tyled meeting where the Consistory Officers for 2024 will hold the election of officers for the 2025 year. The December meeting will be on the 13th of December and will be our final meeting of 2024. We will start with a special dinner at 1830 (reservations are required – and tickets will not be sold at the door). Please contact the Valley Secretary at 407-657-4550 or GenSecOrl@gmail.com After dinner we will move into the Lodge Room for a holiday celebration featuring “The Hollywood Holidays.”

Remember, the “Master Craftsman” program is growing and available to all who are interested. Over time its enhancements continue with additional information. It will assist you in gaining a better understanding of The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, as well as the basics of Freemasonry. For information on the Master Craftsman program visit:

MasterCraftsmanCollege.org

I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. If interested, please contact ILL Keith our Valley Secretary at 407-657-4550 or via eMail at GenSecOrl@gmail.com who will assist you in getting started and ensure you are added to the mailing list to receive all invitations to participate via ZOOM. Keep in mind that participating in a study group enhances the Master Craftsman experience for everyone and starts the building of fraternal friendships between those brothers who participate.

In each eNews article, you are encouraged to read the bi-monthly Scottish Rite Journal to enjoy the excellent articles and information that allows you to continue growing and learning.

The Short Talk Bulletin (STB) offers short stories about many varied topics. Please note that this publication is celebrating its one hundredth anniversary with Volume 100.  Each Masonic Lodge receives a copy of the STB each month. To start receiving a copy every month visit:

At the start of the 2022, through the eNews, we shared short articles on notable Brothers within the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. This section has expanded and is titled “Notable Brothers of Free and Accepted Masonry.” Each month this section provides an article on a notable Brother Mason(s). To date we have enjoyed featured articles on Albert Pike, Brother Robert Burns, Masonic Presidents, Albert Gallatin Mackey and Benjamin Franklin. In this eNews “The Ringling Brothers” are featured. These short articles afford another opportunity to learn about the many who have gone before us. Please read and enjoy!

The 2025 year is approaching and to ensure you have the remaining meetings and events please read the short summary to keep your calendar up to date.

  • Our November meeting will be on the 22nd and as is the norm, we will enjoy dinner, after which, Brothers only will move into the Lodge Room for the nomination and election of Officers for the 2025 year. Following the election of officers, we will have an open meeting in the Lodge Room for the installation of the newly elected officers.
  • Our December ’24 Meeting will be on the 13th of December with a special meal prepared by the culinary skill of “Chef” Tokar along with the additional Brothers and Sisters who also possess those culinary skills. After our meal we will move into the Lodge Room where all in attendance will join in the festivities and be entertained by the “Hollywood Holidays.”

Before closing, I also encourage you to read the article in this eNews prepared by our Trustee, Jay Cebollero, who serves on the Foundation Board. Please read this important article before making your next donation. Jay has provided details regarding the new Sabal Palm program. When donating to our Scottish Rite, please consider this new program when making your next contribution. I will certainly be taking advantage when making my next donation.

At our October meeting I was pleased, along with Bro Jay, to present 50 +/- Sabal/Palm certificates.

Until next time, remember the many things for which you are thankful!  Be safe in your travels; “whisper wise counsel in the ear of an erring brother;” and respect the dignity of all, as it makes you and our fraternity stronger one action at a time.  We want to ensure that what we are enjoying today will be available for those who follow. Simply stated – “We lead the meeting and along with Brother Jay today, so those who follow us can lead the way tomorrow!”  Thanks for your continued support and participation, and may the “Spirit of Fraternity” reign supreme within our “Valley of Orlando!”

Fraternally,

Ill Chester A. “Chet” King, 33°
